Harley-Davidson's reman program is a great avenue for folks that have a tired engine.  But for many years, you had to have an authorized Dealer to the removal and repair.  Now, you can do the R and R and still get the one year warranty.  I have done this procedure many times; HD truly blueprints the entire engine and replaces anything remotely out of spec.
